Wendy Winks

Wendy Winks has been managing talent, and developing film and TV projects with them, since 1996. Her company, A Wink And A Nod Productions, formed in 2001, focuses on developing and positioning screenwriters and directors. In addition, Winks is a producer with several projects in production and development, including the family comedy feature Diamond Dog Caper, written and directed by client Mark Stouffer, which premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in February 2008. Shooting in 2008 is the romantic comedy Stand By Love, with UTA packaging and Lesli Linka Glatter (West Wing, Gilmore Girls) attached to direct, Take A Number, written by client Jim Martin and Reunion Pictures in Canada co-producing and City Of Dragons, written by client Paul Brown. City of Dragons is the true story of Grandmaster William Cheung and his best friend Bruce Lee growing up in Hong Kong in the 1950s, and is in development with Terence Chang and John Woo's Lion Rock Productions, and with Pete Maggi of Blue Star Movies. Fruit Chan (Hollywood Hong-Kong) is directing.

Santa Junior, the company’s first production, aired on the Hallmark Channel in December 2002, and became the second highest rated movie in the history of the network.  Four additional movies written by the same client, Marc Hershon, have been sold to Hallmark.

Prior to setting up A Wink And A Nod, Winks was Senior Vice President Network Development & Marketing at Steeplechase Media, a leader in interactive television.  Preceding Steeplechase, Winks was Senior Director Universal Studios Corporate Marketing & Partnerships where she ran the Universal Studios credit card business.  Winks also spent over two years as Director of Marketing at Universal Studios Home Video, where she made release decisions for their catalog of over 3,500 films and supported them with marketing programs to drive sales.
