HUNTER’S MOON sets monster makers

HUNTER’S MOON, the independent monster movie we broke the news about here, began shooting this week on LA-area locations. The producers gave Fango the word that the alien Catcher has been designed by veteran creature/makeup FX artist Jordu (REEKER) Schell (pictured), with animatronics created by Jon (SILENT HILL) Dawe and George (ALIEN RESURRECTION) Bernota. Lance (GHOSTS OF MARS) Wilhoite is supervising visual FX for the movie. “To succeed, a creature feature must deliver a great monster,” says MOON writer/director Mark Stouffer, “so we spared no expense in going to the best designers and effects creators in the business, and the result is an alien that’s scary as hell.” You can see Schell’s work at www.schellstudio.com and read about Wilhoite at www.costfx.com.

HUNTER’S MOON stars Devon Sawa as a young man who has been plagued by dreams about the Catcher brutally killing his friends. They convince him to confront what they consider to be his irrational fears by joining them in an off-road jaunt to the location where his nightmares have taken place—and discover that the Catcher is very real. The cast also includes Matthew (BOLTNECK) Lawrence, Sanoe (BLUE CRUSH) Lake, Fernanda Romero, Dan White, Siena Goines, Kevin Alejandro, Jennifer Howie and Ryan Judd. “We intentionally cast a diverse ensemble of characters to reflect the multi-ethnic culture we all live in,” Stouffer says. —
