Genre: Family Comedy
Script Status: Screenplay was written by Mark Stouffer (Wild America) and Dennis Johnson.
Storyline: When a blind Nun led by a seeing-eye dog arrives at Cedarville Airport, no one suspects it’s really Blackie Seemore, notorious thief. Not even Bud and Arty, two dim-witted accomplices waiting to pick up their boss. The trio and dog head for a highway rest stop to clean up, where they encounter twelve year-old Owen. As Blackie removes his Nun disguise, Bud and Arty enjoy teasing the dog. Owen approaches and befriends the thirsty animal, giving her water. Blackie is trying to shove the dog back into the car, when the animal breaks free and escapes into the woods.
Owen leads the three thugs on a wild hunt for the dog, intentionally ditching them deep in the forest. Owen finds the frightened animal and leads her to his secret hideout atop a mountain ridge. The hideout is ingeniously built, and fortified with booby traps and defense mechanisms designed to repel bullies. But the biggest deterrent to intruders is that Owen has bravely situated his hideout atop the same ridge where the legendary and feared “Madman of the Mountain” is said to live. Impressed with the dog’s diamond-studded collar, Owen names her, “Diamond.”
Blackie, Bud and Arty return to their car, where they find Owen’s bike, and set out to find the boy and dog. Thus begins Owen's battle to save Diamond Dog, using every ingenious trick he can muster. But can one 12 -year old kid with a tricked-out fort really fend off three determined jewelry thieves?
